Legal basis for processing of personal data

Where we obtain the consent of a data subject for processing their personal data, the legal basis for processing is point (a) of Article 6(1) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

If processing personal data is necessary for the fulfilment of a contract to which the data subject is party, the legal basis for processing is point (b) of Article 6(1) GDPR. This also applies to processing steps necessary for measures prior to entering into a contract.

Rights of the Data Subject

You may request at any time free information about your data that we have saved without having to provide reasons. You can have the data collected by us about you blocked, corrected or deleted at any time, and you can object to the anonymised or pseudonymised collection and saving of data for the optimisation of our website at any time.

You can also revoke the consent for the collection and use of your data granted to us at any time without stating reasons; the processing of the data remains lawful until the time of revocation.

Pursuant to Article 77 of the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g. the Data Protection Commissioner of the State of Lower Saxony) if you consider that your personal data are being processed unlawfully.

Privacy in job applications and recruitment processes

Weserland GmbH collects and processes the personal data of job applicants for the purpose of recruitment processes. The data can also be processed electronically. This is especially the case if an applicant submits relevant application documents by electronic means, for example by email, to the person responsible for the processing. If Weserland GmbH concludes an employment contract with a candidate, the transmitted data will be saved to manage the employment relationship, subject to due consideration of the statutory provisions. If no employment contract is concluded with the candidate, the application records will be automatically deleted six months after announcing the decision to reject the application, provided that no other legitimate interests of the person responsible for the processing oppose deletion. Other legitimate interests in this sense means e.g. burden of proof in proceedings according to the German General Equal Treatment Act (AGG).

Data protection provisions on the deployment and use of Google Analytics

The Weserland GmbH website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (‘Google’). Google Analytics uses ‘cookies’, i.e. text files that will be saved on your computer and that allow an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website will be transmitted as a rule to a Google server in the USA and saved there.
