Sustainable Industrial Packaging: Boxli 1000 – flexible and preservative-free
Efficiency and sustainability are among the top priorities these days, and not just for chemical companies like Weserland. An on-site test in Hanover with the new Boxli 1000 product from Stuttgart-based Evopack was convincing – and ultimately fits perfectly into the current sustainability strategy. This system, specially designed for the storage and transport of 1000 litres of aqueous products, not only offers optimum product protection thanks to its innovative design but also sets new standards in terms of environmental compatibility and user-friendliness.
One of the outstanding features of Boxli 1000 is its ability to minimise the headspace within the packaging by adjusting flexibly to the respective fill level. This principle plays a key role in reducing the contact of the contents with atmospheric oxygen, significantly reducing or even eliminating the need to add preservatives. This property is particularly beneficial for products susceptible to contamination and enables manufacturers to keep their products fresh and durable for longer without having to resort to chemical additives.
Sustainability and Cost-effectiveness
Boxli 1000 is further characterised by its simple and intuitive handling. The packaging can be used without special equipment or prior training, which significantly reduces the implementation time in existing production and logistics processes. The standardisation of the interfaces also allows the connection of common hoses, valves and adapters, meaning that the system can be flexibly adapted to different production environments.
Another key advantage is clearly its sustainability. The packaging is made from recycled materials and is fully recyclable after use, which closes the material utilisation cycle and reduces the environmental impact. What’s more, the improved use of resources is further enhanced by the reduction in product loss due to contamination.
Studies show that conventional packaging methods can lose up to ten per cent due to contamination – a problem that this new system virtually eliminates thanks to its improved protection against contamination.
Utilising the Boxli 1000 industrial packaging at Weserland is something of a turning point in industrial packaging – demonstrating how a commitment to sustainability can rethink the way companies store and transport their products in this otherwise very commonplace logistics solution. This comprehensive system is currently still in its final development phase and will soon be available to the logistics market.
